Meet George. He's up for adoption. This handsome fella happened to stop by Luckydog while we were having our party, in fact if you look hard enough you can find a picture of him in the last blogpost. Anyway, as luck would have it, we met again at McCarren park the very next day. I learned that Mr. George is 2 or 3 years old and highly social with kids, adults and other dogs. He is house trained and doesn't bark much, if at all. In general, George is an absolute sweetheart. He is up for adoption through Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue. Well, It's reassuring to know you're in good hands along your journey 'home', George!
A call out for artists to participate went out in 2010. We were looking for amateurs, professionals, and anyone in between interested in participating in this unique public art project. We received over 100 sketches from across the region. Our sponsors perused the sketches and chose the one that represented them most, or they enlisted their favorite artist to design something out of this world. The artists then had four weeks to create the sketch on the life size sculpture. Mardi Gras Decorators applied a clear coat to protect it from the elements and mounted each dog to it's own base. great dog site breeds details belgian mastiff
